DragonBall Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 Wii

Picked this up yesterday on a complete whim at Target after hearing good things from a friend of mine.

So far all I can say about this game is that it is pacccked with stuff to do and characters to unlock and all kinds of stuff. Definately the most I have seen in a DBZ game.

But the fun factor of this game is amazing. The one thing I will say I dislike is the lack of Wii-stick use, but it feels better than a normal controller at least.

Think it'll be as good for the PS2? I like Tenkaichi 1...

It's probably just as much fun on any system as this one.

Isn't there some crazy Wii controls like doing a Kamehameha movement and a Spirit Bomb pose to do the moves? I thought it had that.

I have it for ps2 and it is god damn hard. I cant even beat the second battle on adventure mode. That and, there are some cheap techniques you can do in 2 player that in unblockable, which you can get stuck in an inf. combo. Other then that, its good.

The Wii controls are hit and miss. Why did they ever think that put your cursor to the center of the screen, move it to the right edge, and move it back was a good control? Other than that though, the shaking and performing the kamehameha (sp?) is pretty neat.

I love it but it got boring really fast.

You use the Wii-stick to do all your special blasts and stuff.

I like the wave in and out thing. It's hard to do 100% of the time.

Looks interesting. I only played Budokai 2 for the PS2 when my friend had it. I'll look more into this.

You will enjoy it much more than the stinky Budokai 2, Misty. I have played the PS2 version all the way through and I enjoyed it for the most part. The best parts of the game are the movie sagas... sometimes. My three favorite characters in the game are Broly, Android 13, and Janemba. I loved playing as Janemba's giant first form, he's so damn cute! One big downside about the game is the large amount of GIANT characters. Now smaller characters can put the beatdown on them without too much hassle. Plus, fights that use to seem epic before, like Goku VS. Great Ape Vegeta, don't have the same feel to them. Still a pretty good game, though. It would be much better if I had some friends to play it with.

                      Great Ape Vegeta
THATS what they're calling it now? It's Oozaru, dammit.

Unfortunately, they call them Great Apes in the game. WTF was wrong with Oozaru you bastards?!

I never liked the Tenkaichi games, they focused more on the flawed DBZ experience than at the very least, a stable and practical fighter.

The Budokai and B. Tenkaichi games are different, Misty. Budokai is more balanced and focuses on fighting mechanics while offering a decent DBZ experience, while Tenkaichi focuses on the experience and most of the often used combat mechanics in the DBZ series such as primary flight, while making ass of a tier list with the 100+ characters.

I like Super DBZ now, because it mixes the traditional fighting mechanics we've come to be familiar with in legendary fighters, with some of the DBZ staples like free flight and offers a diverse cast, with a few practical fighting moves that can't be used with every single character, along with some mediocre, but understandable character customization, since the game used the IC card system. It was pretty good for an arcade conversion. I hope they make a sequel, that'd rock.

The DBZ games that I wanted to play were the ones for the Super Famicom; when Bandai held the license. (Do they still hold it in Japan? I dunno....) There was a small game store that had it on display and I tried a little bit of it and thought to myself, "Damn it, why didn't they bring this to the US? It could have done remarkably well." It was a Street Fighter clone, but a GOOD one.

I was a little skeptical when Atari acquired the rights to make DBZ games. But, as far as Budokai and B.Tenkaichi are concerned, they seem to have done the franchise justice.

Akira Toriyama would be proud, I'm sure.

Don't be so sure of that. They go past the Frieza saga.
