RPGM 1 and RPGMXP?
How similar are RPg Maker Original and XP? Are they the same game but for different systems? I have a trial version of XP, but I heard it costs $60 to download the full thing. I wanted to know if I could get the same thing by buying RPGM1 at, say a used game store. Please let me know.

Nope, RPGM1 is much different from RPGMXP. Lower resolution graphics, no variables, less importing options, and far more restricted scripting.
