Nintendo finally hops on the retard-wagon!

Took em' long enough to make a stupid move, but they finally did it. Is this the beginning of a "who can screw up more" battle with Sony? We'll see!

SNK says that no third party Wii games will be allowed online this year.

Nintendo always has been the one company that has dragged its heels in terms of internet play the most. I think they've always thought it was just a gimmick, which is kind of ironic.

Compared to all of Sony's screw ups, this is forgivable.

I don't give a crap about online play so YAY!

          No, it's not.

This is REALLY gonna hurt the Wii if it turns out to be true. No third party online games for an entire year? That's killing a major selling point for the system. A lot of people love to play online, and this move is gonna show all those people that the Wii isn't for them. I don't really care that much about online play, but I'm in the minority.

if true, this outdoes any Sony screw-up in recent memory.

EDIT: Well, actually, I DO care a lot about online play. Bomberman Land is coming to the Wii, and this means it likely won't have online play! GOD DAMMIT!!!!

              Third Party = Non-Nintendo.

First party games can still be online.

Pokemon and Animal Crossing=first party. What's the point of wii having built in wifi if you can't use it for any games?

Dragged its heels on disk-format, too.

After reading that, this comes to mind:

                  PSN: KingJamos

                  Add me... I'll wait.

Compared to all of Sony's screw ups, this is far worse as far as actually limiting gameplay. Most of Sony's stuff is hardware or PR related, aside from the lack of quality games in these first few months (which Wii is also guilty of) Sony hasn't done anything that messes up the gaming experience.

According to EA, Nintendo also isn't giving anyone the code to put Miis in third party games which is why MySims didn't use them. And now I know why MySims has no mention of WiFi. *shakes head* What are you thinking Nintendo?

When it comes to sports games and competitive games, I DEMAND online...almost always, anyway. It adds so much longevity to your purchase.

This doesn't surprise me because be it true or not, Nintendo's got a rep for not helping out its third parties. 360 is my console for online games anyway...but I was hoping that Wii would be online sooner than later.

I believe they're trying to get third parties to get used to the new control scheme before tossing them into the world of online. A number of devs haven't even gotten accustomed to it yet.

Would you demand a race car without knowing how to drive?

Though, you can't say there's no online whatsoever, what with the countless other Wi-Fi-based channels.

Regardless, I hope online multiplayer hits the Wii ASAP. No dawdling!

Yeah, I really don't think it's a concern on nintendo's part for the devs.
