    Screen Captures?

    Does anyone know how to take screen captures of an .avi file? I have this video on my computer that's BEGGING for them.

        it does w/ some. it depends on what format and compression is used.

            Well, before I could turn off the advanced features of a clip, run it through real player and take a screenshot... but lately I've just been using windows movie maker and it's screencap button. You can move the movie frame by frame and then take which ever cap you want.

                If you play it through WMP:

                Right click on the video, choose options. On the performance tab, go to advanced (button at the bottom). From here, make sure that 'Use Overlays' is unchecked. You can now use print screen 'till your heart's content.
