I'm doing an experiment, I want to see if asparagus will make my pee smell. I've never tried it before, because I hate asparagus. But I thought I'd throw caution to the wind, and stomach it for just this one time. Supposedly methanethiol is the culprit in making your pee smell. I also found out that it might not work on everybody, and, get this... Some types of asparagus won't work. So there's a slim chance it'll actually work for me. I hope it does. I've got my fingers crossed.

I think asparagus does make your pee funny.... Though you can't be sure.

Re: Doing an experiment.
I love asparagus, and I've read all about this.
Apparently, it makes the urine of some people smell, and only some people can smell it. And, on top of that, it's not the same people whose urine smells that can smell it.
Anyways, my pee does smell and I can smell it. So, it's kinda nice after I eat asparagus (which I add to meals at least twice a week), I know the next day that I did. It's a sorta unpleasant odor, but in a pleasant way.
Also, my pet tortiose, El Rapido, loves asparagus. Although, I can never smell the suflites in his urine. My kind of life’s no better off

Re: Doing an experiment.
I like asparagus myself, but Brussel's Sprouts are my least favorite vegetable. I HATE them. It's like, let's take all the sub-par taste of cabbage, and condense it down into a tiny little cabbage. Funny thing is, I like cabbage in cole slaw and in soup. But I cannot abide by Brussel's Sprouts.
