04/02/2007: US MGO online service is coming to a close

The last day of online service for Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence in North America will be April 2nd.

Konami sincerely thanks all of the Subsistence online community for their dedication to the game and support of the Metal Gear Solid series.

The Metal Gear online tradition of stealth, action and team play continues on the PSP system with Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops with all-new characters, levels and modes of play - don’t miss this incredible evolution of Metal Gear Online.

Yeah, what a load of ass.

One of the best online console games and it only got to see life for a SINGLE YEAR.

I'd play it more often if my ****ing university allowed PS2s to go online. **** my ASS.

Makes me wonder how long they'll bother keeping portable ops online...

I thought it was a thrill. Sniping people was a favorite. And punching people in the balls as Raikov never got old.

My college also doesn't allow PS2s online. Who do they think is BUYING these games?!

I guess it's the price we pay for not needing to pay.

I never played MGS online, but if I could figure out how to get my PSP to get an IP address I could at least play Portable Ops online.

Online was great. MGS3S was IMO, the only online game that was done right. Simple, fun and challenging to master. And lag was the last thing I remembered.
