    OWNED?

I totally support this. Lock him away. But I find it funny too.

I think that is probably cruel and unusual punishment, but I have a hard time arguing against it since it's ****ing child abuse pornography.

      Re: OWNED?

Eh, okay, so I hate child abuse as much as the next guy, but if this guy wasn't part of making it happen, or directly supporting the "production" of more child abuse, then I feel ANY sentence is unconstitutional; it's treating thought as if it were action. Moreso I really feel like Arizona should change the way it's sentencing: 10 years per picture is grossly draconian; 1 to 20 years (total, not for EACH picture) seems like it would do the job even where you wanted the harshest penalties.

the more of an audience the people who distribute it online have, the more they'll do it. so yes, he was contributing to it.

200 years is going easy on him. allowing him to live is going easy on him.

But isn't he supporting it by viewing it? If there were no market, there would be no product.

Although, 200 years, yes a bit harsh. A rapist could commit rape and turn his life around before this guy will be free to get the chance.

Edit: Damn it, Valk. You stole my first line. I call it.

Geez, 200 YEARS!? Even with 75, he'd come out with freedom as a decrepit joe. Now, they basically doomed him to a life with a free home, cable TV and arcade time with the 'mates.

Thing is, there's really no treatment for sexual deviance, so if we let him out after only 20-40 years he'll just be a 70-90 year old sexually frustrated pedophile, assuming he survives that long, I'm betting not.

                    Cut off his balls, perhaps?

I don't know. I could care less about the scum, but 200 years is...I don't know, "Damn"

Whatever. He got whatever he deserved.

The definition of "child abuse" is too broad.

                        Thank you Wavelength.

And even if there is no product, there will always be a market. Those who produce and/or distribute this are the ones who should be punished with the big sentences. But then again, it is kind of hard to argue in support of this guy.

There are proposals to expand computer datamining by the federal government, with the search for child pornography being one of the excuses behind it. Never mind what the 4th amendment has to say about that...

I know I'm more than bias on the subject, but I'm all for the 200 year sentence. That kind of **** is not okay! I'm more for him being tortured to death.... and a worse punishment for those producing this ****. Unfortunately, that would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

                            Re: OWNED?

There needs to be levels of sex offenders. Like for example, getting caught peeing near a school would be level 1. No arrest, except a fine.

Rape of a child would be level 5, which would be life in prison or death.

But seriously, though, at that point, why don't you just say it's a life sentence? Anything over a hundred years is just an empty gesture.
