Rules
1. This site is for all legal US versions of RPG Maker
The Pavilion is primarily a site for the console RPG Maker series, although we do offer some support for RPG Maker XP as well. However, we only support the LEGAL release of it. If you post about the pirated versions of the PC RPG Maker software, you will be issued a ban warning and your post will be deleted. If you post a link to a game made with a pirated version of the PC RPG Maker software, your post will be deleted and you will recieve a ban warning. If you dare post a link to a download of the illegal software, or a site that offers it you will be banned the moment the staff sees your post.
If the person continues posting about RPG Maker 2000/2004/XP or argues after recieving a ban warning based on the above rule, they will be banned. There will be no links to RPG Maker 95/2000/2003/XP sites or message boards that support the pirated software. Any posts containing these links will be edited or deleted. If these links are in a signature, the user will instantly be banned from having a signature.
2. Spamming the board or Flaming Others
If you repeatedly spam or flood the boards with irrelevant, nonsense replies and/or new topics, or flame (insult) someone on the board, you're likely going to get in trouble for it.
3. Forum Content
Perverse comments are to be kept to a minimum. Images with pornography are not allowed. If an image/comment is mild, it will be up to a moderator or administrator to decide if it is acceptable.
4. Pirating software, ROMs, Emulation
The open discussion of media file exchanges is permissable as well as some cases of emulation discussion; namely those programs that require the game CD to operate. But all other talk of illegally obtained, pirated software is not tolerated anywhere at the Pavilion.
5. Spoiling Games, Movies, etc.
Spoiling of the plot or content of new/recent video games, movies, shows, etc. must be clearly marked so the reader can skip over or avoid reading the spoiler. If it is not, your post will be deleted.
6. Alternate accounts
You are only allowed to use one account. If there are difficulties using only one, you may use another, but ONLY if you inform an administrator of your situation and explain the problems you are having with your original account. If this is neglected, and a person uses more than one account without a reasonable explanation, the person will be warned and the offending account will be banned. If a user wants to change his or her username, they must go to the tech support forum and request for an admin to change their name. If a user simply creates a new acount for a new name, the old one will be deleted. Multiple accounts for one person is a waste of resources and will not be tolerated.
7. Please Ask, Don’t Assume
If you are unsure about a particular rule or unclear about its implications, please ask an administrator to clarify. We would rather you ask, then guess whether the material in question is appropriate.
8. Private Message spam/harassment
Abuse of the private message system to spam or harass forum members is not tolerated. if we find out you're doing it, we will remove your ability to use the system.
User Infractions
We have done away with the "strike/warning" system. If you see a post that breaks the rules, click the red card image in the post and fill out the form that comes up. This will generate a post in the staff forum for the staff to review. Ths staff can either overturn it, or let the infraction stand and edit the post it was generated for. Each infraction stands for 30 days, and is viewable in-detail by staff on your profile page. If you accumilate multiple infractions within a 30 day period, you are elligible for a punishment that may range from a temp ban, permanent ban, or forum specific temp bans or permanent bans. It's up to the staff to decide.
Regulations
Do not double post. don't post directly after your own post in the hopes of adding something to what you've already said. Instead, just edit the post you've already made
Do not flame. This is should be obvious. Don't attack other members of this forum. Be mature. Use the ignore feature.
Language. Do not bypass the filter with curse/swear words. Just say "damn" or "crap". No need for real vulgarity. Editting posts for language will be up to the Moderators discretion.
Do not make "test" posts. Don't make a post to try out your signature or your avatar. These things update across all your posts, so just change it, look at one of your other posts, and see if you like it.
Avoid making topics that are directed at one person only. Examples are "Hey GOkuSayian79 Get On AIM!" or just "Gokusayain90!" Making a topic like this will certainly not get you banned by any means and its totally understandable that this board is a way for many of you to get a hold of one another, but try to avoid it as it does cause clutter.
Hacking or threat of hacking:
"Threats" are not allowed, even as a joke. a threat is defined as a statement saying you will, intend to, or have done things to the integrity of the site or forums without permission. This includes, but is not limited to, forcebly changing the password of any pavilion user (through hacking or trojans, etc), forcebly gaining access to any pavilion upload server, forcebly removing or adding admin status, and forcibly altering the contents of the message board.
Punishment for the above transgression is a permanent ban. Punishment for actually going through on the threat, or in some cases this applies to making the threat itself, if it's an especially serious one, is a permanent ban and a phone call to your ISP.
Topic Hijacking. This includes intentionally straying from the subject of a topic and turning it's purpose towards something else, such as starting a flame war in a topic, flaming someone in a topic for reasons not associated with the topic, making comments directed to people participating in the topic that do not have any relation to the topic, and posting just general nonsense in a topic. You can get a strike for this. all it takes is for the creator of the topic to request it, or anyone actively participating in the topic.
Advertising Other Sites. You cannot use the pavilion as a vehicle for promotion of other sites. Links in sig, fine. Creating a topic just to advertise a site is not allowed. we had enough of that from the spam robots back on EZboard. This rule primarily targets the people who will register, and post for a week or so trying to get people to check out their site/forum. If you have an RPG Maker site that you want to advertise, PM Valkysas about it and he'll likely give your site a link on the "community links" page at the main site.
Signature Rules. There are no more signature dimension or size limitations, although sigs that use extremely large files, or too many images will be removed at the staff's discretion. Make sure your signature follows the content rules. if it does not, we will remove your ability to have one. Some people may think it's dumb to have sig rules, but no one likes having to push page down just to get past one post, and few people are mindful of dialup users.
The staff's PM inboxes are not an alternative to the site info and suggestions forum and tech support forum. If you have a suggestion for the pavilion, use the suggestions forum. if you want your name changed, use the tech support forum. if you're having problems with any part of the forum, like using sigs, use the tech support forum. The only time it is suitable to PM staff members about issues like these is if it's a matter that you believe would be best kept private, and kept out of the public eye. Failure comply with this regulation is considered a violation of rule 8, and Administrators have permission to remove your ability to send PMs if you constantly insist on using their PM inbox as your personal tech support line for issues that don't need the privacy of the private message system. they are also under not required to respond to tech support issues via PM, and are allowed to ignore such messages if they wish.
