We need to stop spending tax dollars on idiots who forget that the cold kills you. I'm sick of being bombarded by news alerts that another weekend warrior insulation for brains wannabe sherpa is being searched for. Now I keep hearing about some idiots on Mount Hood. I DON'T CARE!!! If you're going to tell us about stupid accidental deaths, you might as well tell us about how many people accidentally overdose on Lysterine rectally. I'm sure it's about the same amount of people who die climbing mountains for fun.

Re: k thx I go 2 mt hud BRB
The last report I read was about those climbers who were lost in Oregon that were never found (well, I think they found one dead guy in a snow cave). I found it strangely amusing that the news reports noted that these people were "expert climbers," yet these guys chose to climb a mountain (during the worst snow storm that season, no less) that'd been noted for having many bodies of previous climbers still buried in the snow because it was too dangerous for recovery crews to retrieve them.
Think everyone else dies from cold and you won't? Fine, go for it. Yet another fine example of natural selection at its best, eh?
That doesn't mean I don't feel sorry for the families of those who died; it's just hard to see a death as surprisingly tragic when it was a suicide mission in the first place.
In the beginning the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and is widely considered as a bad move.

And how do you decide when the possibility of danger is too high? The next time you go driving you could die, because there are bad/drunk drivers on the road. There are safety precautions taken for things like skydiving that are supposed to make it idiot-proof.Originally posted by highwind View PostPeople who do "extreme" things and die "accidentally" are hard to sympathize for.
It's like when a skydiver's parachute doesn't open. Well, y'know...maybe you shouldn't've chosen to jump out of an AIRPLANE.

I don't drive for sport.Originally posted by Armored24 View PostAnd how do you decide when the possibility of danger is too high? I drive to get to work.
To make money.
To live.
It's kind've...y'know...different than climbing a mountain or jumping out of an airplane for no reason.
