As it's pretty well implied by the title, I have a PO Box in town.
It's rather nice because it's a real pain having to fill out endless change of address papers because of how often I had been moving.
But...it's a little strange. When I go check and see if I have something in there, sure enough there's mail. A lot of mail actually.
The thing is, most of it isn't mine. It's like I'm getting everyone else's mail except my own.
I've gotten credit card offers for about 4 different people, legal threats, many medical bills, ice skating magazines, sweepstakes offers, a merry christmas letter addressed to a business from a credit union in town, and so on.
I've taken a lot of the stuff to the front desk saying it's not mine and this person doesn't have the box anymore (I do), but it just doesn't get through apparently.
I was told before that for security reasons that only the person currently registered to a PO Box can receive mail there. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
So if you guys ever feel like sending me wads of money by mail (I suggest using delivery confirmation!) you may address me as Tina.
Or Jane.
Or Henry Smith.
Or PO Box holder.
Or Valued Customer. (Stop sending me your crap wal-mart!!)
Or Matt McArdle.
Because apparently to the United States Postal Service, I am anyone I want to be.
But really, does this happen to anyone else?
