    EA's rEAl tAlEnt

One woulld think that most of EA's talent goes into making games, right? I don't think so. It goes into EA's marketing Department. Proof positive, is when I saw someone excited that Goldeneye:: Rogue Agent was comming to Nintendo DS. How does that spark intrest? Does the game have anything to do with the Goldeneye movie? Dunno.. Is it the same team that worked on Goldeneye on the N64, no.. Same engine? Nope, Same Plot? Nope... But it's got the word Goldeneye in the title. So We all forget about 007: Agent Under Fire and Nightfire. Both mediocre shooters. And not to mention James Bond Raceing, and Tommorrow Never Dies. For those of us who DO remember Nightfire, and such, Rouge Agent being mediocre wasn't a surprise. See the only thing Goldeneye has in common with Goldeneye Rouge Agent... is the word Goldeneye. The team that actually worked on the shooter is split between Rare, and Free Radical.

Next up is Need For Speed Most Wanted. Announced today, it mixes 2 of the Need For Speed top titles into one. You guessed it, Popular game 1 + Popular Game 2 = Popular Game 3. Need For Speed Most Wanted is Underground+Hot Persuit. Now, I've never really liked the NFS series, I'm a Ridge Racer nut, but. I will admit, this one cought my attention. I'd give it a look-see

Next on the list is EA's GTA Clone. Cause every publisher needs one. So how does EA's marketing team pull this off? Make thier own story? Nope.... that's not marketying. They licence one of the most famous mafia movies ever made... The Godfather. And as you may or may not have heard, the Creator of the movies is ****ED about this. GO EA! http://ps2.ign.com/articles/602/602934p1.html

And I guarantee that The Godfather as a game will suck. Just look at countless other games based on movies. The mediums of movies and video games just don't mesh well together.

Very few games based on movies were any good(Star Wars KOTOR comes to mind), and vice versa.

What? Agent Under Fire and NightFire weren't that bad, mainly because I wasn't expecting Halo knockoffs. Rogue Agent was their worst attempt at cashing in on a successfull title. Not only because of all the points you gave, but because the game was just boring and stupid. The only thing I liked about it was how it put me to sleep near the end of the game.

Eh, I like the NFS series for their cop chases. The racing's okay, but the cop chases is where it's at. If a NFS doesn't have cop chases, I'm not interested.

I seem to remember an article in EGM(I think?) that had Total Recall as one of the top 10 worst games of all time.

And Total Recall... I watched that recently. OMG What a pile of...

And Goldeneye for N64 might be the best movie game of all time... MIGHT.

I heard Spider-Man ranks right up there among the best.

EA Games' talent is Free Radical. Period.

And even then, any games made by them aren't exactly what they used to be.

TimeSplitters 3's biggest flaw: you only have to get a bronze in the challenges to unlock stuff. You don't get anything for silver, gold, or platinum.

I think videogames-based-on-movies entered a renaissance thanks to Riddick and the recent Spider-Man 2 games.

Hopefully the Batman Begins game (made by Splinter Cell and Riddick developers!! TIGHT!!!!) will kick so. Much.

What's unfortunate is, there are many more problem in the game, like a few mapmaker and online bugs.

When it comes to games based movies, it won't matter who's developing the game. There's still a good chance it'll suck, or be totally unrelative, which basically makes the game suck.

But that's technically Free Radical's fault, not EA's.
