doctor in the house? (SERIOUSLY, HELP)

I'm kinda freaking out right now. We had hot dogs for dinner and Dustin didn't feel so good afterwards. Here's his description:

"So, Tonight i've had this problem. I've felt ill, but not. It's more like.... I wasn't feeling like i was going to puke, 'cept for my gag reflex going off... which made me feel like i was going to puke. I popped Pepto all night, assumeing it was my stomach, but mostly just kept by things to swallow. Water, sprite, more water..."

This is the first time he ever felt something like this. He also pooed green twice, which makes us think it's something w/ the gallbladder.

I have no domestic partner insurance through my current employer (unlike my last one), and I don't know what to do...I'm calling the doc tomorrow morn, but I still don't know what to do. Please help.

It could possibly be food poisoning.

Jesus people. It's called either the emergency room or the free clinic. Decide between the two. There's no "go online to the pavilion and ask for a diagnosis."

Honestly I'm kinda surprised Kire's still alive at this point.

Is he having abdominal pains? Gall bladder problems almost always have that in common. I feel you on the insurance, but as long as it's illegal to prosecute for medical bills, I say take him to the emergency room and just pay it off whenever (ifever) you can. I've had to do this a few times.

          His life is too important.

It doesn't sound that bad to me. This is something I think you can wait out. The body deals with most problems very well. A doctor will tell you this. I feel you on the no-insurance bit, since I quit my job 3 weeks ago.

My poo is green on a weekly basis. It just means the body is rejecting itself.

It sounds like food poisoning. If your BF doesn't see a doctor, odds are overwhelmingly in his favor that he'll recover within a week, but if he doesn't want to take any major risks(it can potentially kill you, after all), then he should see a doctor. Personally, I'd tough it out, but that's his choice to make I guess.

I've had food poisoning on a few occassions in the past, and it made me sicker than ****. But I never saw a doctor in those instances, as I didn't want to incur expenses onto myself that I would never be able to repay. Medical care is extremely expensive in this country by design(fattens profit margins), and one day in the hospital uninsured can cost many thousands of dollars. They'll charge you $20+ for something as simple as one aspirin.

crisis averted. We went to the emergency and a doctor gave a free diagnosis. Basically it's not a gallbladder problem cuz there's no ab pain, so the doc said it was prolly food poisoning or a flu bug. I feel better that we got it checked out though.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the input.

GREAT news that it's not gall bladder related! If it had been, it could have been serious. You did the right thing. For the flu/bug I'd say soda crackers and sprite are your friends.
