I made a few interesting things!

    #1

Well first i made a little choice simulation. Your at the castle and theres a party for the king you choose to switch the poison chalice or you can avoid doing that. The outcomes are different if you poison the chalice you get another party member but then you are denied entrance from the town for killing the king and runing away. If you dont poison the cup you have to kill the guy who wanted you to poison the cup and you get gold and exp.

In the begining you choose your character and their element (a.k.a skills and magic) well im having trouble with it. When I choose a charcter i get to choose my element but i end up having them all in the game.

Some help would be nice tell me what ya think

The first one is pretty cool, nice job

I'm not entirely sure what you mean for the second one. I'm going to assume that you have all four characters(elements) for the starting party. What you need to do is remove the other three when they make their decision. Preferably while they can't see anything, so they don't see an element they don't want to be.

Picking things at the begining that effect the entire rest of the game is cool! It sux though, if you get like halfway through and you tend to think that you picked wrong...

          Hey GrimsGotGuns,

If by element, you are giving your character different skills or magic that pertain to that particular element, you could make them all level 99 skills and have the player learn them outside of battle. That way you could control which "elements" the player ends up having in the game (depending upon the choice he/she made earlier). I'm not sure if I understand exactly, but yeah.

unfortunately unlike rm1, elemental damage doesn't increase or decrease depending on enemy class...I dont think...so what would be the purpose in assigning elements?

You can choose "weak vs." and "strong vs." a certain class, which you can pretend are elements, and I think that DOES affect the amount of damage done.

Re: I made a few interesting things!

There are several ways to do this and they're all pretty easy depending on what exacly you are looking to have as far as what the player sees.

                    1) Line up all the possibilities in a row (or circle, or random) and have a defacto character talk to and pick which character via a description.

                    2) Have an NPC rattle off questions pertaining to the elements. Ie: "Would you like...?" "No, then how about...?" "Well, then maybe...?"

                    3) Come up with something totally outlandish and original! Like make Grim's cheat option, but instead have it pertain to elements instead of something that the game wouldn't normally start you out with.

Its also prolly a good idea to practice with a few first so you get the hang of it before launching off trying to do something too grand. RM3s limitations have a way of stifiling your creative muse, especially if you don't understand exactly the way that the game wants you to work it.

I didn't entirely understand what you meant the first time I posted...

But what I said WILL work for picking your character, then again Martovich's suggestion number one would work just aswell.

Combine that with Pagerron's level 99 skills suggestion and you've got yourself a custom character

yes thats what i did with it the lvl 99 skill thing. well about the elements there are 3 fire, ice, lightning each does different damage and has a special ability. Also as you lvl you get a skill (depending on what you/I chose) i call it a shot skill. Electrics "shot" skill is where it hits all enemys doing med. damage ( this skill makes them slow basicly paralyzed) . Fires "shot" skill shoots a ball of fire and does maximum damage to one enemy ( poisoning them it was supposed to be like burning them). And lastly Ices "shot" hits all doing small damage but stoping the enemy. Each element also has a unique power up skill. I hope you like the idea!!!

Its a very good idea and sounds like it would work pretty well

will all players have that skill or just the main player? The reason I ask is because I'll let my main character have ice and when all the enemies freeze I'd just have my other 2 party members beat them down

You could also have each "element" effect the growth of the character too! Like, since fire does the high-end damage you could give that character a boost to defense, or HP (to better stand against other fire-users) and give Ice higher speed...

I was tinkering with this sort of idea for a RM2 game that I have in the works: pick a hero based on the hero's strength and all the other playable characters will develop based on that skill. So if you pick the defense guy, the speedy girl will have a higher def then if you picked the robot with tons of attack. The same basic idea, but you can take it to another level!

Ohh yeah and i almost forgot for the peoples upgrade skills what happens is for ice your physical defence increases. Fire Physical attack. And lightning is agility up. Vut im having another problem that i dont know how to fix in my beta test for the game the last boss (for beta he's last boss he's actually the 7th boss) Well my bro was testing and he was i think lvl 47 and he fought the boss and his magic ups was so high he killed it in one hit i tweaked it but now he only did 10 dmg so i tweaked some more and he did 5000 to much and then i didnt know what to do SUGESTIONS PLZ. And this is a crap grammmar page just so ya know.
