    System Selling Games

I was reading about how Fallout 3 is actively in development, and it made me think that I really need to get an X-Box 360 before it comes out. That then made me wonder what other games would be system sellers for myself (i.e. the game that makes you HAVE to get a new system).

That led me to wonder what are other people's system selling games. Final Fantasy XIII? Metal Gear Solid 4? Super Mario Galaxy? List 'em off, people, regardless of system.

for the ps, it was probably resident evil.

snes: super mario world, zelda, final fantasy 2 and 6
      genesis: sonic, shining force
      ps2: rpg maker 2! =)
      gamecube: resident evil
dreamcast: all those wonderful fighting games, grandia II, skies of arcadia

i think those are all the systems i've personally owned and loved with all my gaming heart.

I think games that make people purchase new graphics cards should count too.

I bought a gamecube basically just for RE4.

Melee was sort of what sold me on buying a GameCube. I don't quite regret that decision, but I only really got into four or five games total on the GCN, and I even had to replace the system after getting ubiquitous DREs... so I kind of made a vow never to buy another system until it can get at least a few games I drool over.

A few games, whether released, announced, or simply inevitable, that are dragging me closer to burning my bank account:

                (Elder Scrolls) Oblivion
                Super Mario Galaxy
                (Smash Bros.) Brawl
                Trauma Center: Second Opinion
                Guitar Hero III
                Karaoke Revolution Series
                RPG Maker 4
                Mario Party 8
                Tales series
Star Ocean series (hey, I can hope...)

How Badly Do You Want It? (VX Ace) is now available for download! - no outside software necessary.

Final Fantast XIII Versus looks pretty cool. I haven't been interested in an FF game for a long time. Fallout 3 is even far more appealing.

                        Re: System Selling Games

I'm worried about Fallout 3, since it's being developed by Bethesda, and while I loved Oblivion and even Morrowind to an extent... I don't know if I trust them in the hands of a brilliant series like that.

I've been replaying Fallout 2 recently, and damn, it's just one of the greatest games ever made. I just don't know if Bethesda can make a game with the feel of Fallout.

But, hey, maybe it'll be great!!

Though I kind of wish they'd just leave it alone. :/

                        HOWEVER SYSTEM SELLERS:

                        Can't think of any!!

Man, Fallout 3 would be the final nail in the coffin for me getting a 360. For PS3 it's gonna be FFXIII and for the Wii it would have been Twilight Princess. Ha ha Nintendo way to screw yourself over!!!

I personally think the myth of MGS4 is the system seller, not the actual game, so I will not be purchasing it until after FXIII.

I guess I'm the only person here to not really know anything about/care about Fallout?

Nah, I didn't know or really care about it. I looked it up and it says Bethesda is doing it. All the more reason for me to avoid it.
