Easy way to keep characters and monsters balanced

I used my Final fantasy strategy guide to help me. Or any other RPg game guides.
I recommend doing that IT HELPS.

B-b-b-ut....I don't have a Final Fantasy strategy guide. Well, it looks as if all my games are going to be horribly unbalanced from here on out...

Nah. It depends too much on monster placement.

Nothing against this guy, but it seems as if someone with 12 posts should be taking recommendations rather than giving them....

Well perv you gotta think I made quite a few contributions my first 2 weeks

Nothing against you or nothing for him, I'm completely neutral on this, but you can't judge experience on post count

However I do agree, seeing he asked if we'd like to see his stats(and he copied them from a stat guide) goes to show that he's not very familiar with the game...but yeah, trial and error is the best way to go when doing that.

Nothing against you Panther Nice to see another RM3 user, you should browse the topics thats already made and get some ideas on your games, and you might even find a topic that will help you with balancing your stats instead of referring to a strategy guide, especially seeing most FF's doesn't have a set interval you go up each time you level up

Yeah, I guess I do need to lose a bit of my superiority complex when posting in newb threads....sorry, Blkpanther90.

Its not a superiority complex, I think that way all the time, I just gotta remind myself that just because they are just starting doesn't mean that they are new to the game too

Like me, I was using RM3 almost a year before I found this place

Actually I'm pretty sure it wasn't a question thread, more of a hey this helped me, maybe it will help you thread. Not a you can't balance your stats without one of these, just it may help you to try to base it off of these.

                      Just putting that out there.

Re: Easy way to keep characters and monsters balanced

BlackPanther--since stats don't really work the same way in Final Fantasy as they do in RPG Maker, I really don't think there's too much utility in copying the stats or even really using them as a guide. Hito made a good point in that is also depends heavily on monster placement and density, and even on the length of your game.

That being said, if you've actually playtested with these stats and came out with tough-but-winnable, exciting battles... then more power to you and I'm sure your game will be great!! And good on you for taking the initiative to try and help with peoples' creation early on in your RPGM experience.

I know what you were intending Panther I've only been here a few months myself and when I was new I was always trying to help people out.

One of the hardest things to get used to is the initial onslaught of criticism when you're new, probably why most people end up leaving, its kind of like an Pavilion initiation, best thing to do is just sit it aside, as you become more of a regular member people stop criticizing you and focus on the newer blood

Although I've only been here for 3 months, I still get harassed every now and then, but most means well and just looking for a laugh, not necessarily at your expense, so if someone cracks a harsh joke or criticism, don't take it seriously, I did when I first started, and one of the first things you learn is if you're new, you wont win, no matter how right you are

I have yet to get harassed at all.

And I have yet to see anyone get harrassed simply for being new. Each time, as far as I have witnessed, it has been for making dumb, annoying and/or ignorant posts.
