    I want to make a game....but...

I want to make a game about the End Of Times, or Armageddon. I have a really cool story in mind, but I just wanted to know if people would think that it is too controversial that they wouldn't play it. What should I do?

Ummm....I think a lot of RPGs have the "the end of the world is coming, but leave it up to a plucky youth to save the world from a terrible apocalypse" theme. And seeing as how most of us here play RPGs, I don't think you have to worry about it being too controversial.

Sorry, rpgfanatic, but I've got to do this in two of your threads in the past half hour....*sigh*

It wouldn't necessarily be controversial to play. Give it some little twist that will give people a reason to check it out.

Unless if it says that gay marriage caused the destruction of the universe you'll be okay.

What Maker are you planning on using? What kind of apocalypse story are we talking about (pre-, post-, or durring)? We need more details.

Well instead of the group of hero's saving the world you could have them fail causing humanity to vanish off the face of the earth. Be a nice twist.

"Well, so much for that. Anyone want to buy a... slightly used Earth?" Cliche as it may be, I'd far rather save the world than fail at doing so.

In the game I'm making, the world has pretty much been destroyed and there isn't much there to save. Sort of taking after the novel "The Sheep Look Up" by John Brunner, the films Judge Dredd, The Roadwarrior, or Soylent Green, or the Fallout games for an indication on the state of my game's world.

You should make Jack Thompson the main character and you have to go out and destroy the 3 evil empires, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, if you can do that then you saved the world!

Better yet, Jack Thompson already succeeded, and the world fell into chaos because of it.

Without video games no one can release their anger, frustration, anxiety, and other pent up emotions as readily as before. Plus the elimination of a billion dollar industry puts hundreds of thousands of people out of work, causing a new, world-wide, depression.

Your task is to find the secret caches of video games: computer games, console games, consoles, and finally the peripherals(controllers and the like). All while dodging Jack Thompson's Gestapo forces!!

At least I hope he ment that.
