    HELP! Wii Problems!

Guys, I'm in a panic and don't know what to do. I'm having trouble with my Wiimote. Somehow, it decided to stop working on me. I thought it was the batteries or something, so I replaced them thinking it would solve the problem. It didn't. I tried synching it by pressing the red buttons on both the console and the Wiimote itself, but that didn't seem to work either.

I don't know what the problem is--the Wii manual doesn't tell me anything else. I've tried every possible solution and so far, my Wiimote is still not working at all! No pointer, no starting up, nothing.

If I don't have a working Wiimote, there's no way I can use the Wii for anything. And I don't want to have to hunt down another one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, I was trying to move it to another position, but that didn't help either I even unplugged it from the back and plugged it back in to see what would happen, but so far nothing.

I can't even turn on my Wii with the remote--I have to manually push the button on the console.

Have you dropped it at all? Have you ever had any problems like this before? It may just be a faulty Wiimote.

          This happened to me.

unplug it, plug it back in. that should fix it. it's insultingly simple.

if that doesnt work, your remote may have just gone to sleep (yes, they do that when not used for a while) you can remedy this by simply pressing "A".

Sounds like the system and remote aren't synced. I know you said you tried to sync them, but it can be tricky. When you press a button on the wiimote, do the lights at the bottom quickly flash on and off?

I hope not! This is the first time it's ever happened. It's pretty hard to find a replacement nowadays--the Wiimote I have is all I have to go on at the moment. I always use the wrist strap so that I prevent the Wiimote from falling from my grasp, but it hasn't prevented it from hitting my dresser whenever I swing it during a heated game of Tennis.

I never knew that about the Wiimote. The sleep part is probably for battery life conservation.

Yeah, it's been doing that like crazy. I read that you had to press the sync buttons on both the Wiimote and the console at the exact moment, but I'm not sure when I'm supposed to do that.

Wait, Kire didn't make this topic? :?

Sounds like you have to sync the wiimote, you gotta hit them both at the same time, I think you can do it whenever.

No, if you do it at the wrong time, your Wii blows up.

Misty, i had that happen to me a few days after i got my Wii, it was a background light that caused the issue. If you have to , turn off all lights in the room, see if that makes a difference, you wont have to leave the lights off once it is re-synced.

Oh man, that reminds me of when I first got the Wii hooked up, I was stupid and didnt turn off the christmas lights hanging all over my room. the cursor was going insane and it actually took me close to an hour to figure out what the problem was. felt soooo stupid.

Maybe you should see a doctor about that.
