    introduction.

Just thought i would introduce myself and ask a few question.

Well first off im Fraser and after reading an article in a magazine i found out that this is probably the best place to be when it comes to getting information on the rpg maker.

There are a few things that i was hoping some of you could help me with.
    1. Which is the best PC based version of the RPG maker series for making Sprite based RPG's as opposed to 3D based versions.

2.How long does it usually take to get fully to grips with the software.

I have a good idea for a game that i am currently drawing up the plans for and concept ideas.

    3. what is the best web source for indepth guides to the software

    thank you for your time.

    Re: introduction.

Well since RPGMaker XP is the only legal PC version, I would go with that.

It takes months to fully grasp most rpgmakers.

I'm guessing the magazine was GamesTM? Guess the interview I did with them paid off after all.

the only PC RPG Maker we'll reccomend is RPG Maker XP, which is available at download.com. it has a free 30 day trial, after that it costs $60. So go ahead and try it out, see how you like it.

RPG Maker XP will take you a few days to really get the hang of, but mastering it cold take years, thanks to the ruby game scripting system.

For the console RPG Makers, we and our partner site the RPG Maker Magazine (www.rpgmmag.com) are typically viewed as the "best". We don't really support RPG Maker XP beyond having a help forum (that's mostly empty), so you're honestly best off going to another site, like rmxp.org. although we will do our best to help you with anything you need regardless.

It doesn't take as long as you think, with rm1 and rm3 i was making simple games in an hours time, though grasping the concept of scripts take a little longer

Here I come Pav, like the Kool-Aid man barging into a funeral! Oh yeah!
