Well we have one for the regular game, but what about all those spiffy (and un-spiffy) custom maps and campaigns? Some of my favorites include:

Dude, if you like DOTA, try Samurai Legends sometime. Like DOTA, but balanced and fun as hell.

I dislike Dota... too hardcore for my tastes.

DOTA is overused, TOB is much, much better.

But yeah, pheonix, Samurai Legends is fun becasue so few people play it that its not super hard to do well. If you're bad, just pick the Warlord: You help out the team without being responsible for pure winning. (Banner of Glory is a great tower killer.)

Advent of the Zenith is another fun DOTA variant: and although its less balanced then samurai legends the heroes and villians are awesome.

Ninja Vs. Samurai is fun, although be careful what version you're playing becasue the earlier ones are really buggy.

And Werewolf is fun with friends. I love backstabbery.

Man, now that I've played a couple games with non-extremists, I'm actually liking DOTA. I like support heroes, although it has it's downside: I get killed a lot (usually Anti-mage or Bounty Hunter), I ask someone to gank them, but no one does since they think I'm a newbie since I died so early, so I die more. Repeat ad nasueium.

Another one I love: Genesis of Empires.

It's a bit hard to get into, but once you learn it it's a blast.

WHAT THE HELL IS DOTA

Someone explain it to me.

Two sides pouring creeps at eachother. You play 1 hero. Pick one of three lanes, and push it back by killing the creeps. Kill towers on the way, get to the base, and destroy either the tree of life or the frozen throne.

Sounds like a very dynamic mix of Hydra Zones and Lurker D. I'd like to try it sometime.
