Remaking RPG Maker games on RMXP

I've been thinking about this for a little while, but I'm not sure about it.
I was looking around for an RMXP game to play to see what this thing can do, but all I've found were some uninspired demos that weren't all that great.

That and solid tutorials seem to be in short supply as well.
So instead of trying to learn this a bit with senseless fumbling around, I thought I might try to recreate Forever's End (part of it at least) for practice.

What do you guys think of recreated games on RMXP? Would you play them if they were updated, or just give them a passing glance?
    Thoughts?

    Hm....
I played Mario on the original NES. I re-bought it for the SNES (super mario all stars).

That was the only game I 're' played on a console.
Course, commin' from a guy who remade Gobli on RPGM2, I'm not one to talk.
I think if you could pull it off with more extras, people might play it.
    I love lamp.

IMO, it's a pretty good idea. If it ever gets anywhere, I may be able to help you with tiles depending upon the amount of time I have available.

Sniffy wanted me to remake Cursed Desires on RPGMXP with him doing even better sprites and such.

But I just couldn't find myself redoing it due to not having enough time.

I think that it would take a lot of work to re-make a game.

I always wanted to remake Dash as a full on Lucas Arts style graphic adventure.

I always meant to have imperial walkers and giant Dubak lizards in the background, but RM1 had it's limitations.
Oh my god! You are so beautiful.
I had no idea how beautiful you were.

Too much work? I was kind of thinking the opposite because,

            1. The game has already been made, so the primary template is already there to follow so to speak
            2. Using a computer with a keyboard you can type out most of the main dialogue before hand. The text thing wasn't exactly speedy with RM1
            3. Much of what I thought as difficult was really just in fact tedious and time consuming. That is, having to cleverly work around limitations that are not present in RMXP
            4. RMXP seems quite similar to RM1. This would (I hope) reduce the learning curve some when switching makers
            5. RGSS looks like it won't be needed very often. From what I've seen in Enterbrain's sample game, all the things I'm thinking of can be done without it in the same fashion I did with RM1

So Yeah. I think it's just going to be the learning curve that would pose some difficulty, but I don't think that will last long.

The sample game by the way, though I'm pretty sure you've checked it out by now Von since I'm the late guy to RMXP, is down on this page: http://www.enterbrain.co.jp/tkool/RP.../download.html

Collaborative work also looks like it would be be much, much easier.

Remaking Forever's End with an ATB system would be very fitting.

It would be too much work for me. Because I would want to go overboard with special effects, new types of puzzles, more complicated event scripting and so on.

I wouldn't be satisified with a new wash of paint you could say.
