    PSP?

I got one for free the other day... but well, I can't think of any games that I'd like to own for it.

    I mean, there IS:

    Tekken: DR
    Hot Shots Golf: Fore!
    * MGS: Portable Ops
    MGS: Ac!d
    Lumines
    * Monster Hunter
    Capcom Classics Collection
    MegaMan Powered Up

Aside from MGS, and Monster Hunter. I think I'm almost better off selling the thing and buying some more games for my DS. I've got Burnout for it and while the screen is just BEAUTIFUL. Well, it lacks the quality adventure games that I crave from a portable device.

Oh, and there's Valkyire Profile... meh. I own it for PSone and it bores me.

Yes, Lumines is incredible, as is Hot Shots and Tekken...I didn't play anything else as much as those three. You pretty much did list the best stuff...if that doesn't blow your skirt up enough, sell it and get a DS. Valkyrie Profile is also really cool though, and if you're into Playstation RPGs, then it's worth holding on to. I sold mine because of the $$$ issue...kinda regretting it, but it's not killing me.

I think it's funny when people say the PSP has "lol no good games" when this man has counted 38 so far; 10 more than the DS.

But seriously, if you like adventure games, why are you even looking to the handhelds and why did you even consider buying some of the games you listed like Lumines?

Go buy The Longest Journey, Anachronox, and Dreamfall if you want Adventure games. You won't be disappointed.

But I'm feeling pretty talkative. Tell me what you like and I can point you in the right direction.

I can think of a few things I want for the PSP.

            MGS: PO

            Lumines

            Every Extend Extra

            LocoRoco

            Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth

            FFT

...That's all I can think of right now.

IMO, the PSP has decent games but they're not really very good as portable games... The DS seems to "understand" that portable games should be more pick-up-and-go and less just-like-console-games-with-worse-graphics-but-portable.

              The PSP is.....I dunno. I'd give it a 6/10.

                  Re: PSP?

Every Extend Extra is pretty fun as well as challenging. It's difficult enough deciding when to blow yourself up to score major points but the enemies fight back so you have to be quick.

I attribute the PSP's lack of sales mainly with the poor marketing. The PSP has plenty of great games... but people just don't know about them. I didn't even know MGS: Portable Ops was out until after I checked the shelves and found a single copy sitting in a corner. No commercials, no adverts in magazines, nothing online, there's absolutely no hype or buzz generated for PSP games AT ALL.

Nintendo really doesn't have to advertise as their games sell themselves; everyone knows about Mario, Kirby, and Zelda. But Sony just doesn't seem to care about the PSP or it's developers and they even overlook the system's most powerful ability ( homebrew). If they just stopped worrying about piracy and realized that "people who want to steal games WILL steal games REGARDLESS" then they could embrace the fact that the PSP is basically a portable mod machine and a GOOD one at that. A new program just came out that allows you to play movies through the Divx codec and it's glorious.

Anyways, here are games that I play... and oddly can't be easily located on the store shelves or got crap advertisement.

Generations of Chaos: Fun strategy game. The battles are massive but slow down in the larger scale fights. Still, it's one of the few turn based strategy games around.

Gradius Collections: I'm a huge fan of Gradius and I must say that this is a godsend to fans. They actually used the ORIGINAL arcade versions which makes me foam at the mouth even more.

Metal Slug Anthology: I've played the Wii version so I assume the handheld one will be just as good. It comes out early next month so we'll see.

PoPoLoCrois: A fun, light hearted RPG that's a good break from the cliche lol anime epic with long haired villain and pretentious storyline garbage that's been flying around.

MegaMan Powered Up: Capcom did another great job with this. There are actually some EXCELLENT levels made with the editor and you can easily download them.

Platypus and Luxor: Two very fun SHMUPS but they were produced in such limited numbers they're almost impossible to find.

Lumines 1 + 2: I have to say I officially enjoy the series more than tetris. Yea...

LocoRoco: A little on the short side, but still fun.

Me and My Katamari: It might be a little hard to control at first, but this quickly becomes an addicting game.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty/Vice City Stories: If you like GTA, you can't go wrong with this. That's about it.

Killzone Liberations: 10x better than the generic ps2 FPS game. I enjoyed this as it focuses on strategy and positioning over dumb luck and charging head on into enemy ranks.

Syphon Filter Dark Mirror: The ps2 Syphon Filter stunk but the PSP version revived the dying series in my eyes. The game actually uses more advanced features than most console shooters such as ragdoll (which is becomming more common nowadays) and advanced AI. The multiplayer is pretty good as well.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops: A great addition to the MGS canon and a great game. Single player is fun, multiplayer is fun, and getting new characters through wireless internet hotspots and satellite GPS systems is downright cool.

Ex!t: Another fun platformer/puzzle game and it's pretty cheap... about $15 used.

Field Commander: The load times do a get bit tiresome at times, but it's a pretty hardcore turn based strategy game that pays homage to the Dai Senryaku series as well as have a few things in common with Advance Wars.

Ghosts n Goblins Supreme: Best GnG game yet (unless you also want to count the Maximo spinoffs).

Capcom Collections: It's amazing how 15 year old games are more fun than half of the games that come out today even on the other consoles. I think I play Street Fighter II for atleast an hour each day.

Yea, that's all I can think of at the moment but I have tons of other PSP games.

I love this game, but honestly. You have to admit more than a few things in common and say it's at least 75% a clone.

I wasn't posting a list for you, it was for Toaster.

Speaking of which Toaster, if you like puzzle games you should also check out Bubble Bobble Extreme and Lemmings. The PSP version of Lemmings is a rewrite of the original DOS version with upgraded graphics, remixed cd-quality music, a level editor, and a dozen extra and custom levels from the original creators. Best Lemmings available if you ask me.
