    Neverwinter Nights

It caught my eye when I was at the mall today.

There's the Diamond Edition of this; which includes everything up to the current expansion--right before NW2. It's about $20, so there's no hurting my purse here.

I hear a lot of great things about it. The cream of this is the campaign editor, which is supposed to be very, very powerful. Kind of like RPG Maker--only you make games based in a Dungeons and Dragons universe. I'm not familiar with D&D, but I do know a thing or two about old adventure games that people used to play back in the 80s and early 90s

I had thoughts about picking it up when it was first released when I read about its features, but for various reasons I never got around to it. Now, it's available in all its glory--expansions and all---for $20. You think I should go for it? Have any of you experienced this before?

Never tried it. Not into Dungeons and Dragons.
Despite what you think, I am very, very real.

What system is it for? PS2, X-box, PC, etc.

The campaign editor may be the one reason I get this.

I found NWN boring...But if you want a game experience that never ends (user created campaigns and such), and like that type of game...NWN is slick.

              But I found it boring.

                I found it slow.

Like, "watching Knights of the Round go off 4 times on Emerald Weapon inbetween every other action taken" slow.
Or "PS1 Road Rash loading times" slow.

It just takes a really long time to do anything.

                That was my experience anyway.

I love NWN, now he original campaign was kinda crappy but you HAVE to play the Shadows of the Underdark Expansion, which is a pretty awesome campaign. And there are a ton of really good user made modules and persistent worlds.

The Diamond version comes with all of the expansions and a few premium modules too, if it is only $20, GET IT!

I played it around, and now I need a paaa-rty
Love is a strong word, but I really really really do like it.

Yeah, so in a week or two, anyone up for going through the story?

oops, its Hordes of the Underdark, the first expansion is Shadows of Undrentide, which is also better than the original campaign.

NWN2 would be better if they actually had playtested it. And if the editor worked...

The first one does play a little slower than most console games, but if you like D&D it's a great game, well worth the $20. And the editor is pretty decent, too.

I've only had a few bugs with it, but I hear the launch was pretty horrible.

                            Well, I got it ^_^

Kinda Diablo-eque in its presentation, which I think is pretty cool since I like Diablo. The main reason why I took such interest in this was because of the Aurora NWN Toolset. I don't think I would have gotten this had it not been for that, since I like creating things.

I don't know if I'm going to get #2. I think NWM is good enough for me

You may want to eventually get 2, since they added an assload of subraces and the Planetouched, as well as warlocks. My first character with it was a tiefling warlock .
