Problem with graphics card

Or something. (Not sure where to put this.) Anywayz, recently (about a half a week ago) Guild Wars started acting weird. The terrain started flashing, followed by the objects, and soon my character's head looked like it was exploding (when actually it was just light in the center of the screen acting like it was on crack).

I emailed one of the guys that works at the support thing for Guild Wars. After sending him the DirectX diagnostics, he said my graphics card was outdated, and he gave me a link to update it. It didn't work, and I sent him another diagnostics check. I'm still waiting for a response, but does anyone know why this might've happened? I've tried reinstalling GW, but no dice.

Honestly that sounds more like a game bug, but who knows. Well I imagine he linked you to either NVidia or ATI's site correct (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp or http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp). Another thing you might want to do is upgrade your DirectX to the latest version if you do not have that http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
(have to have a valid copy of windows for that ).

Beyond that if all your other games work fine, might be an odd bug in the game.

Not sure what options GW have but you could try turning off some graphical features such as dynamic lighting...I dont know besides what TTC said

Um.... I would think that is the graphics card. But I have been wrong alot. Search around if anyone has had the same problem as you.

And I'm not getting a new card. It cost me 300 dollars.

It sounds like a driver issue but, if you already have the latest drivers then it's probably a problem with the game. You could try third party drivers and see if those work. I can't recommend any though 'cause I just use the catalyst ones.
