Maijo Makes Videos? WTF?!

Alright, I'm looking to buy a new video camera and I need some Pav Opinion on what I should shell out for.

My price range max is 800-1000. Nothing too fancy, just something that's pretty nice and will last me a while. Just looking for simple camcorders with a little flair.

Any suggestions? Uh-oh, Highwind maybe?!?!!?

I got a Canon that's a few years old. It's pretty good with sound, but I've yet to figure out how to transfer something to video. I can do it if I record it to a memory card but I haven't bought a new one that can record anything of length. Also it's got no night vision, just a light on the front.

Other than that it's a good camera. I'd say just go to Best Buy and talk to their guy. I wish I had asked about connecting it to my computer when I bought mine though.
