My jee-eep brings all the pavvies to the yard!

    Lol

Yesterday when I was about to take it for a drive I backed out f my garage and then switched it to drive. Then everything seemed to quit working. The gas pedal would not give it gas, the brake was hard to press, and my 4 wheel drive would not go on. So I turned it off and back on and everything but 4 wheel drive was working. About 30 seconds down the road it came on though. I was wondering if any of you know what the crap is up with that.

If I am right you mean something about a mobile phone. Would that really do that?

EMP= Electromagnetic Pulse. And, in regards to our current soicety, a weapon more potent then a nuke. Not a cell phone.

Actually EMPS are side-effects of nukes too.

I‘m on my Wii right now (), so forgive my otherwise craptacular typing/grammar.

              that sucks.

one time my car's transmission blew out in the middle of the highway in the mountains in the middle of the night.

              that sucked too.

              things suck.

Check your transmisson. Change the transmisson fluid if its old. When changing drive gears (assuming its a lame automatic), hold down the brake all the way and do not give the car any gas until you are certain the gears have shifted (don't want to grind anything).

                          among the off topic talk

I'm not sure what your truck is like, I've had the same problem on a few cars and this is how I fixed them

4 wheel drive comes on automatically whenever it feels like it on a 4WD

As for quitting if it completely stopped running then it may be either a fuel filter not delivering enough gas to compensate for the loss of RPM's going from reverse to drive, or your Idle is set too low, if I'm not mistaken Jeeps idle at about 900 RPM, if yours, when idling, seems to sputter a little you'll need to adjust the idle screw, which is found on the carb., just turn it clockwise an 1/8th of a turn and stand back and listen, if it doesnt sputter then its alright and you shouldn't have anymore problems with it.

If it wouldn't go forward it might not have been in gear all the way, theres 2 ways to fix this, and depending on your truck you may have to do one, both, or unfortunately neither and live with it...

The first(and easiest) is to look on top of your ******, there should be a cable running to a linkage, there may be adjustment bolts connecting the cable to the linkage, these should tighten the cable.

The second(and a little more difficult) is seeing if there are any adjustment bolts under the shifter connecting the cable to the shift lever.

Another way, only do this if your E-brake WORKS GOOD! is to apply the e-brake, turn the truck on, and put it in reverse, then get out and manually switch gears using the linkage on the transmission, the truck should go smoothly into all gears, if you put it in park youll have to go in the truck again because the truck (shouldnt) shift out of park without the brakes pressed, if you notice any strange vibrations going into drive you may have an internal linkage problem(or worse).

Thats all I can tell ya right now, if I think of anything else I'll let ya know

Bond: No lights. Not one single electric light on a thirty-mile radius. (Pause) EMP?

Tanner: Would account for the MiGs and the satellite.

                            Bond: And the blackout.

                            Tanner turns to M.

Tanner: Electro-Magnetic Pulse. First strike satellite weapon developed by the...uh..

M: The Americans and Soviets during the Cold War. I read the brief. Discovered after
Hiroshima. Set off a nuclear device in the upper atmosphere, creates a pulse; a radiation
surge that destroys everything with an electronic circuit.

Tanner: The idea being to knock out the enemy’s communication before he, she or they
                            could retaliate.

                            M: So, GoldenEye exists.

                            Bond: Yes.

M: Could this be an accident?

Bond: No. The helicopter. If you wanted to steal the GoldenEye it’s the perfect getaway
vehicle. Setting off the blast was the ideal way to wipe out any trace of the crime.

                            M: The Janis Group?

Bond: They may have been involved with the helicopter.

                            He moves to a computer.

Bond: I know the Russian fail-safe systems. You just can’t walk in and ask for the keys to
the bomb. You need the access codes.

On the computer, James zooms in on a small white object, moving. It appears to be a
                            person. (It’s Natalia)

Bond (O.S.): There had to be an insider.

He looks closer at the monitor.

Bond: And at least one person probably knows who it is.
