    The 'Recommend a Game' Topic

This was created in light of my recent desire to play Freelancer again, so I'm going to start by recommending it.

    Official site. (Demo included)
    Gamespot Review
    Wiki page.

    - It's an open-ended space-faring game with easy controls, free online capability, and a decent story.

    - The game is dirt cheap now, selling for around $10-15 (Amazon had it for $12 used?).

    - Any 4 yr. old computer or younger can run it well.

    - There's a Demo you can install that's less than 150mb and is also open-ended (only limited to one area).

    - It's almost completely mod-able, and one in particular, Ioncross Total War is so well done, that people who have played it consider it the sole reason to own the game.

Call me desperate, but I'm doing this solely for Ioncross Total War. I feel like the mod is completely underrated - a diamond in the rough - and it almost pains me to see it so. If you look at the server status, you'll only see a handful of people playing it, but these are guys who have been playing it since the mod started. I've returned to it several times, and some of you have suffered my ranting and raving over its gloriousness.

Anyone who enjoys a good online experience should definately look this up.

(I'm calling out to the InnerCircle too. You guys should totally check this out!)

I've played it before, you basically do the same missions over and over again, then when you get further in the story, the missions are the same but the enemies are a little harder.

    Anyhow.

The missions are repetetive, but so is fighting monsters over and over. In the Total War mod, it takes advantage of that by upping the difficulty and reward.

That and Total War factors in death. If you die in Freelancer, you just go back to where you last docked. If you die in Total War, you not only go back to where you last docked, but you lose all of your equipment and resources, and have to start out in a basic ship again.

Did I mention it has a dynamic economy?

Which reminds me, what was the deal with Blood Omen 2? It doesn't belong in the same series as Soul Reaver considering how vastly inferior it is.

            Bully

Take what made Grand theft auto great and apply it to a private school full of bullies.

You can seriously fufill all your highschool fantasies in this game. As soon as you get there you're targeted for a ass kicking for being the new kid.

While walking around people will randomly talk **** to you. You can push em and talk **** back. Or you could go straight to the beat down. You can shove them in lockers, humilate them with classics like "Stop hitting your self" "Dead arm" etc etc. Shove em into a trash can. You can just hang out in school and listen to the funny dialouge. And see random fights. Its ruled by the status quo.

            Teachers

            Prefects (english hall moniters?)

            Jocks, Preps, Nerds, Bullies, Greasers.

You have a respect meter for each faction.
Like say if you help out a nerd when he's getting picked on they worship you.
            Greasers are ****ing insane.

Theres a crazy hobo who teachs you moves he learned in the army

You can pull the fire alarm.

            Hit kids with fire extinguishers.

            Cut class.

            Break curfew.

Eventually you can leave school and explore a massive town on a BMX.

I'd go on and on about why you should all get Phoenix Wright: Justice for All, but simply saying "Phoenix Wright" speaks for itself.

Incidentally, it looks like Gyakuten Saiban 4 will arrive before the third game. It may cause a bit of confusion since GS3 is the end of the Phoenix arc, while GS4 is the start of the Orodoki arc.

Blood Omen 2 was just them milking off the popularity of the series for all its got. God, I hated that game. The story sucked, the puzzles were both annoying and inferior, also every damn weapon in the game felt like you were using a club. So in conclusion, this game doesn't exist. No one play it or you will be looking like the crazy hobo talking to himself in the street.

Freelancer was a good time. I didn't get into the Total War mod for very long, though. Maaaybe I'll check it out again, but I've been pretty busy with all the 360 games I got for Christmas.

                    Ace Combat 5

If you like flight sims at all, this is the game to get. Between an epic storyline and a vast number of planes to unlock and purchase, it's easily the best game in the series. Of course, there's always AC4 and Zero if you can't find this one.

Dude I loved that game! Go with tjoris9 on this one you will NOT be disappointed with this one. Although the new Ace Combat isn't nearly as good though, figures.

Yep 5 is the best out of the series.

I would recommend Okami, it's just a great adventure game. I personally like it better than Zelda so far. Plus the celestial brush is funner to use than the ocarina. It's one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a while.

The dog fights in Ace Zero have been improved and are much more challenging than Ace 4 or 5, especially on harder difficulties. Those two games are very easy, even on "ace" difficulty, but Zero.. That's hard.
Plus Zero's ending theme and final stages (and music) are just awesome.

As for recommending a game.. Gears of War?

Beyond good and evil was very underrated.

I still think super smash tv on the snes is one of the best coop games of alltime.

If you like shootemups you have to play Einhander and Ikaruga, but if you like shootemups then I'm sure you're already aware of them.

Alice for the computer has some amazing level designs.

                              freelancer i liked.

                              ikaruga left me close to heart attack, but it was totally worth it. The whole black/white thing literally left me like this;

                              "switchswitchswitchswitchDIEYOUBASTARDSswitchAMGDIIIEEEEEEEEE*blown up*"

                              it was relentlessly, awesomely tough. at least it was for me... i'm kind of dumb ^_^;;

if i was going to recommend a game... er...

Lego Star Wars. You might find it strange, but i really enjoyed it. rent not buy though. And don't touch the sequel with any pole shorter than 20ft.
