Right now it's convincing Cloud it's called The Elder Scrolls series, not the Oblivion series.

IMO, get Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion if your PC can handle it, or you have an X-Box 360.

Yeah from what I heard Oblivion fixed a lot of the boredom of Morrowind. Though I didn't give Morrowind much of a chance, it's because I spent 30 minutes just walking ... in a video game, to get to the next town, walking outside would have been more fun. No real battles just walking. Plus all the stats to keep track of, eh just seemed like it would be really boring. Then again I'm more of a console RPG fan, so I'm a bit biased. I'll probably eventually give Morrowind another chance. Either way it's going to be a long journey, with lots of text, and really pretty graphics (depending on how good your graphics card is).

All I know is Oblivion got a lot more fanfare than Morrowind, and Morrowind got a good bit of fanfare itself.

The mods is where it is at TTC. You won't like the main quest, trust me, I couldn't even finish it because it went into a Zelda WW type of fetch quest.

The Elder scrolls are really neat, in the fact that it's open ended. I wish I could play Oblivion. But my computer would fry even on the lowest settings.

And 360 is just blah. You can't download player-made mods for it if I'm correct.

                      Re: Elder Scroll

I agree that Morrowind's mods are fun (even though I can't get half of them to work, or work right). Last I played Morrowind I toyed with Machall.com's Mog Mod, which is great except the game is designed to where a player shorter than the normal height literally can't fit down a flight of stairs (as strange as that sounds).

Some games were just made to be modded. Freelancer is an example. There's a mod for Freelancer called Total War that was never popular but incredibly well-done. It basically set up a small multiplayer online game of one faction against another, which dynamically changed based on the actions of the players in each faction. It was great because it was incredibly well-balanced while still offering versatility. Its level of difficulty forced players to work together. That and it had rockin' original music (namely, the files 'music_no_ally_battle.wav', 'music_br_battle.wav', 'music_dangerous_chase.wav'), so memorable and invigorating that listening to it now makes me wish I never left the game...

Unfortunately, since the game was only run by 2-3 guys with a lot of ingenuity but lives of their own, the server's been shut down from what I read...

BUT, I'm getting off to a tangent on something totally unrelated...

                      FREELANCER!

                      ...and that's why.

I have Morrowind, but I got bored after a few of hours. I liked the concept of such an open-ended game, but I had no idea what to do. After a while of killing everything in my site and still not gaining a level, I gave up.
I had to change accounts. I'm here now - http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/member.php?u=1475

Oblivion is ten times more fun than Morrowind.

Both games main quest are dumb and suck.

The fun is just exploring and walking aimlessly.

I've played Freelancer, it wasn't that enjoyable after the same mission over and over.
