    Beginner Markers

    So, for my birthday, my Grandmother got me a 50 dollar gift certificate to Michael's (AKA..art store of <3) and I got some Sakura pens, a new sketch book, and a set of 100 markers. Now...I got them because they were fairly cheap (fibracolor), about $16, since Prismacolors are WAAAY out of my leauge. Is this a good way to start learning how to color with markers, or should I just bite the bullet and get the good-stuff?

    ALso..any tips for coloring with markers like this so they don't look like something a three-year old did?

    First get a three year old and have him/her color with them. Now you can see what not to do.
    I had to change accounts. I'm here now - http://www.pavilionboards.com/forum/member.php?u=1475

      I think you can make great pictures with markers. I don't like to spend a lot of money on expensive pencils and such--even though they're really good to use. The colors are limited with markers, but you can still produce some good art with them, I think.

      Experiment with the pens and markers you have. You might be surprised!

        this ^ is a little more in the way of 'how to'. The guy, like almost everyone who thinks they know how to use a tool better than most, is just a tad elitist.... you don't need prismacolours *shrug* its possible to get to the point where you can draw something great with some paint and a stick. and a lot of time, admittedly =P

        if you actually want anything more than that rather basic diagram and the ubershiny example there shout me, i'm happy to help. or attempt to help and fail, you know how it is ^.^;; its been a while since i touched a marker, or coloured anything at all. Black & White ftw ^.^

        My point here is basically that not only is it possible to draw well with markers if you know how (k, thats obvious, but hey), it is also really really cool to draw in bright colours with outlines ^_____^

        ::Edit::

        ... absolutely no-one wants to know what i think, though. awesome. at least i didn't get negative rep XD
