? about Best Buy Replacement Plan

Does a dust cover and one stylus missing mean I couldn't get a replacment DS Lite with my Best Buy Replacement Plan?

No. Simple loss of accessories is not covered. It has to be a manufacturing defect or act of God.

Well I have a couple dead pixels on the top screen and that was going to be my reason for replacement but I was wondering if I would be denied a replacment without the dust cover and stylus.

They're usually not too picky about stuff, as long as you paid for the PRP. Just tell them it won't play one of your games, but the game works fine on your friend's DS. They'll usually give it to you.

I would return it without ever mentioning those things. :P

I misspoke when I said act of God. Basically what I was driving at is that it had to be some factor out of your control and not due to your negligence.

When I got the replacement plan for my DS at GameStop, they said it covered pretty much anything, even negligence.

So I asked them if they would replace it if I walked in there with a hammer and destroyed it in front of their faces.

                    They said no.

It is a ripoff. Everyone knows.

I actually used the replacement for a cracked screen when someone else sat on it.

And I used the replacement plan on my MP3 player just recently because I didn't like it. I told them the USB port wasn't reading properly in my computer anymore. They didn't carry mine anymore, so I got the value of it towards another player.

Not really on subject, but some places are stingy towards warranty...I have a Sprint phone and pay $6/month in insurance, I've had the thing 14 months($84 paid), and I dropped it one day and the outside case cracked in front of the digital window, I took it back and they said it doesn't cover cracked cases, when in plain black and white on the warranty paper it states "Covers all physical damage"

Hopefully you don't have someone like that working at your Best Buy

I traded in my PSP when the touch pad sunk in and wasn't reading as well. I also traded in my DS when the touch screen was becoming less responsive (which it was) for a DS Lite. You can also trade in due to dead pixels or non-responsive buttons.
