Yeah, this might be a pointless topic, but in another thread I noticed players who are playing FF6 for the first time. Have any questions? I, Riotsword, The Self-Proclaimed FF6 Guru, can help!

Post or PM me any FF6-related questions, and I'll answer them.

(This is just something I love to do... give out help for something I have extensive knowledge of. Imparting knowledge is pretty cool. Now I understand why people want to be teachers!)

I should do a topic like this for Chrono Trigger, since I find myself a self-proclaimed CT-universe guru.

Here's a question: What's the easiest way to make the game bug up and (sometimes) give you tons of free items including over 200 tonics, dirks, elixirs, and other various common items(the original SNES version)?

That's a good one. Never saw that one before.

But never use "Sketch". Your game could crash. Except for getting Big Guard and Pearl Wind. Use it on the weak little creatures on the Solitary Island(where Celes wakes up in the WoR).

Actually it happened to me before. I don't know what exactly we (my brother and I) were doing, all I know is after one battle on the world map on an island, our character sprite suddenly turned into the ship from FFII. We weren't able to move or something like that, but we could access our menu and save, and restart the game.

And when we restarted it, we had like 30 groups of 99 dirks, 200+ groups of tonics, ethers, elixirs, etc (Actually, it was infinite we realized. As we used them the number never went down. My hypothesis is it was really 999 items, but the counter only went up so far), and a whole bunch of other stuff. The rest of the game ran normally except for that.


We got excited though. We thought maybe it would unlock all the other Shadow dreams that 'supposedly' never got released in the American version.

The "Sketch" command is just plain buggy.

I've heard Sketching Gau will cause the item bug.

I believe I read a list of proven ways to cause the item bug on GameFAQs, but don't quote me on that.

OK, question time: Do you have any idea as to how the Echo Screen/Joker Doom trick works?

I got 4 Shadow dreams. After finding him in that town north of Figaro (where Locke's old girlfriend is), I spent the night there over and over to get these dreams.

The sketch bug, from what I hear, occurs if you sketch the test rider in Narshe in the WoR. The bug that crashes, I think occurs at the Floating Continent (I think I sketched the chubby face monster, or maybe not, but it definately did happen in that place, twice).

I've got a good question for you. In the WoL's auction house, a "talking chocobo" is up for bid. Is it possible to buy it? I know that boy and his father always bought it for an insane price, and I was never able to match the price they bid.

I sketched a vanished Test Rider (a Test Rider I casted Vanish upon) and came out with an unlimited supply of pretty much every weapon, bug free.

And then the file got nuked. I could never pull the trick off again, because you have to do it before the Test Rider makes a move. I was lucky as hell that one time.

Also: The Zeal chapter of Chrono Trigger as an allegory for the Book of Revelations. Discuss.

Nope, it's just a joke, along with the other two items that that guy buys for his kid.
