Who played it? Who's still playing it? I just wanted to know what you guys thought of it. How does it compare to other Zelda games?
I'm still not done with it, but I think it's right up there with OOT and LttP. There's just so much to see and do. I'm enjoying every second of it.

What is it, Zelda Golf or something?

DURRR, way to have your finger on the pulse of Nintendo, man!
I figger I'll get it sometime soon, the friends of mine that got it have been having a lot of fun with it. AND I LIKE FUN.

I heard from a UK friend that the PAL version has some glaring bug in it that messes up your game (can't remember what it was).
I think I'll steer clear of this one then. :|
So, uh, yeah.
I got it. It's really fun. Except that it only has six dungons...

You'd think they'd be able to fit more on those darn cartridges. They fit Link to the Past AND Four Swords I on a single cartridge.
Are there as many songs being reused from previous games as I heard? I don't like it a whole lot when the sound isn't very original. Of course, some themes such as the overworld and important item themes have to be in every Zelda game.

Hey, isn't the Magic Flute tune from Mario 3 in it?!?
Naruto

The sound of the flute in Mario Bros 3 is the same as the sound of the flute in the orginal Zelda and yeah, that's the sound the ocarina makes in Minish Cap. There are a lot of songs from the 3D Zelda games and new ones too. Is that a bad thing? I think the soundtrack is awesome. The songs from the 3D games are fitting. There's a lot of other stuff from the 3D games in there too and I think it's pretty cool. It makes the game feel like LttP meets OOT.
I hated the "inside house" music from OOT and I hate it in this.

It must be a violent allergic reaction to whimsy.
I love whimsy. I love things that are even too whimsical, like The Life Aquatic.
But that music just GRATES.

Yeah, some of OoT's presentation choices are pretty questionable, like the music Loki mentioned.
And the NPC character design. God.

Hylians are ugly as sin. If Zelda wasn't so hot and the games weren't so playable, I'd let Ganon just take the place.
And when did the flute/ocarina first appear in Zelda? I thought it was in Link to the Past, first.

I'm sorry, but when I read the title of the game I really did think Nintendo was going to start franchising out Link like they do with Mario.

Soon enough... soon enough.
There's a flute in the roginal Legend of Zelda.
I'm happy that Capcom uses other baddies besides Gannon. If only they did the same with Sigma.

I don't recall seeing the Ocarina before Link's Awakening. But it didn't really become an awesome tool until Ocarina of Time. You know, since you could play songs (including make your own) and it had a lot more effects than three.

the flute showed up in the original zelda. yup yup. it was used to remove the lake covering a dungeon, and to teleport you between the different fairy lakes.
I just beat the boss from the Wind Palace. That has to be one of the most awesome boss fights in all of Zeldadom.
Goyle

The game is really fun, but it's way too easy. All the bosses are push-overs.
Apparently, the last boss is the hardest one in any Zelda game ever, though.

Really? I had no problem with it what-so-ever. o.o

Do enemies cause more than a heart of damage this time? That seemed like a rare occurrance to me as I played Wind Waker. (Or maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention.)

When I replayed A Link to the Past I was surprised at the amount of damage normal enemies do to you.
I didn't remember them being that LETHAL back in 1992.

Lethal's good. Without being lethal, the only challenge in the dungeon would be the puzzles (and usually those aren't too hard to figure out save for a few "impossible" puzzles).

Well, I mean, they aren't Ninja Gaiden-caliber "kill you and your family and everyone you know and love" lethal, but still, it was kind of surprising how often I died in that game.
John Mora
02-06-2005, 10:56 PM
I have, like, 100+ deaths in the original Game Boy Zelda.
lol yeah. I always thought that number was a score until I learned it was deaths. Then I felt bad.
Anyway, you gotta make games easy these days or else people won't know how awesome they are.

Yeahhhh.
Though MGS3 and RE4 had their difficult parts. And Ninja Gaiden, like I mentoned before, raped the crap out of me.
Still love it though.
I'm so possibly likely almost perhaps maybe going to think about think about getting this game.

Actually I thought the Wind dungeon was hard...until I realized to slow down with Roc's Cape. The last dungeon was a pushover though.

If you beat the Gameboy Zelda with no lives lost, you get a super-special ending.
LIES!
I'm stuck in the last dungen of Minish Cap. There doesn't seem to be any way to proceed forward.

I'm at the very last dungeon, but I'm afraid to proceed into it because after you enter it, certain events in the game are no longer accessible, and I'm still 2 hearts short of the 44 heart container pieces you need to have the full 20 heart set. I love the game though.

Well, MGS3 had some challenging bits. Sneaking around is certainly more difficult and having the PATIENCE to beat The End...

I've found it harder to stay alive in MGS2 than MGS3.

Doesn't seem important enough to run out and buy, but it would definately be the next gba purchase I made.
I found the gameboy zelda(always forget the name, the dream one) to be very hard. Something about the tininess, lack of detail, made it disorienting.

You talking about the original or the Game Boy Color edition?
Link's Awakening was the first Zelda game I beat without a Player's Guide. ...Okay, so I only used a guide for the two N64 Zelda games, but it was still quite an accomplishment for me. Rather difficult, too. Don't know how many times I died, as I reset every time it happened because I wanted to see the special ending. Or rather, I wanted to see Marin flying in the sky in place of the seagulls (I think that's what I heard would happen). And yet, she wasn't there. The ending was certainly good, though. Wasn't much to it, but for a Game Boy game, it was pretty impressive.

Does anyone know if there is a special ending in Minish Cap?
I've already died a few times and I dont have a save before my first death~~~~
:vomit
I beat Awaking, Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and OOT with a guide.
I hate the Water Temple. It's the most evil thing ever. I ALWAYS get stuck on it.

My favorite Zelda is a tie with Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening.
And I too hated that water dungeon. It takes forever to get through.
Draygone
02-09-2005, 11:45 AM
Even with a guide that temple was confusing. And the guide sure didn't help me figure out exactly how to beat the boss in it. Wound up finally beating it by slashing all over until I got a hit in by luck.
My favorite is Link to the Past. I also like Four Swords alot too.

The water temple in OOT was a little tricky cuz I couldn't find one key that was hidden in plain sight.
The ice temple in Lttp always throws me for a curve, you have to keep track of where you drop through the floors, and I don't. The one time I did though it went quickly.
Spectacle rock in the original is kinda rough too, second quest is challenging.

Water Temple, Ice Dungeon, yeahhhh, those are pretty frustrating.
But EAGLE'S TOWER in Link's Awakening...
MOTHER****!!
John Mora

I was stuck in Eagle's Tower FOREVER because I didn't bomb one wall. Mother **** **** cum.
I actualy like Eagle's Tower a lot. It was cool the way the level transformed as you progressed through it. Plus it had Kirby as a bad guy.
I just beat Minish Cap. It ranks as one of my favorite Zeldas so far. And the ending was much better than Wind Waker's.

My can of beans is better than Wind Waker's ending.

Can your can wave at you from a pirate ship?
DIDN'T THINK SO!
