Atreyu - Atreyu is something of a guilty pleasure for me. For whatever reason, no matter how many times I tell myself that their lyrics are fruity and their high-pitched guitar solos are cheesy, I just can't stop listening to them.

Hopesfall - It took me a long, LONG time to like this band. Now that I do, they're suddenly one of my favorites.

The Mars Volta - New album. Joy. I hope it's a little less self-indulgent, though.

Glassjaw - My undisputed favorite band of all time, probably because of the sheer amount of variety they pack into their songs. Very heavy, very unique, very inspiring.

He Is Legend - Frigging goofy. The vocalist randomly says things like, "Break it down" or "Shake that thing" in this impossible-to-take-seriously death metal growl. For some reason, I appreciate that. Oh, and their song, "The Seduction" features the line, "I've got to find the princess, she's in another castle."

Ween- Hilarious band The Pod is one of the highest albums I've ever heard.

Guided by Voices- To me their songs are hit or miss when they hit they hit when they miss they miss.

and assorted Bossanova and Samba songs.

Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Tell Balgeary, Balgury is dead:
Ted Leo is some good rock. He jams out on the guitar like nobody's business.

The Flaming Lips, The Soft Bulletin:
This one's a classic in my book. If you haven't heard these guys, you should be ashamed of yourself. Other than that, I don't know exactly how to describe them. Unless you're bothered by some of their "silliness," it's some of the most beautiful you'll ever hear.

Opeth, Blackwater Park:
I've never been a fan of metal; much less scream-driven death metal like this. But, this album is great.

Guilty Gear XX #Reload Korean Version OST: Because sometimes synths are good.

NOIR blanc dans NOIR Ltd. OST: Because I'm a sucker for the vocal songs.

- Yoko Kanno's Escaflowne soundtrack, particularly the cheesy rock anthem "Love" and the hauntingly dramatic/awesome "The Vision of Escaflowne."

- The theme from Conan the Barbarian. Quite possibly the coolest friggin' fantasy fight music ever.

- Whatever Yasunori Mitsuda songs I got. I'm in a very Mitsuda mood. "Kokoro" and "Pain" from his Xenosaga soundrack and the few Xenogears songs I have... I gotta find my OST and Creid CDs somewhere.

- Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain. Incredible jazz album, it sounds so distinct and unique and just plain rad. I'd love to use it for a soundtrack some day.

I've been listening to the Neskimos recently. Dunno if people knew about them, but they're new to me.
