I mean, are they? I don't agree w/ their buying up of properties, but...they really don't have any competition in the football arena. I guess the reason I'm asking is that my long time friend now refuses to buy anything EA, as I'm really looking forward to NBA Street 3.

Re: Is EA evil?
They're bastards, but I wouldn't call them evil.
Not unless they come out with "NHL 2005: Skating Over Puppies Edition".Last edited by Czechs Mex; 02-07-2005, 03:42 AM.

My opinion is here!

Because I don't have one of my own.
...I'll read that article later.

Well okay, apparently EA is evil because they are all about franchises and not creativity, and because they don't treat their workers well.

Re: Is EA evil?
One of my instructors works for EA and he loves his job. I know of a couple other guys at EA who dislike their jobs and are finding new ones.
Are they evil? My opinion will be based on if they decide to outsource like they threatned to do because they don't want to pay their workers overtime...and thats a bastard move.
I was quite happy to hear they backed out of the Ubisoft deal, ubisoft produces great games and if EA became involved I think the quality of their games would have declined.

Re: Is EA evil?
Is the sky blue? Of course EA is "evil". First of all, all their Bond games(excluding Everything or Nothing) are mediocre. A lot of effort isn't put into the right places. Their Madden games, compared to Sega's ESPN 2K series, are mediocre and costly. We know what they did to try and stop that. EA, afraid of competition? NO WAY! Their Medal of Honor games are some of the most cinematic WWII games I've played. Well, at least in the first level. They turn to crap after that. Basically every game they release is mediocre.
I mean, who releases a whole bunch of crappy Sword of Manas, releases a Final Fantasy, THEN spends a few more years releasing more crappy Sword of Manas? Squ...I mean EA, that's who.
Their slogan "Challenge Everything" isn't just a slogan-IT'S THEIR OBJECTIVE!

Re: Is EA evil?
When was the last time EA actually made a note-worthy game? Lately their games are nothing but the product of unoriginal licenses and pop-culture clichés.
I'm pretty worried that they bought the rights to Timespliters. If it turns to a steaming pile of excrement, I'll know why.
